Installing an epoxy floor can add durability plus style to any garage, basement, or concrete floor. At SJB Painting, we only use the best epoxies from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams. Here is our step by step process for installation of an epoxy floor.
We first prepare the garage floor by either an Acid Etch or by using a floor grinder to give it a mechanical profile to accept the epoxy coating.
Preparing the border of the garage floor by edging with a hand grinder.
Preparing the garage floor by filling in cracks and divots.
Clean up by vacuuming up the garage floor and cleaning any oil/grease off the floor.
- The garage floor is ready for the epoxy coating. It is poured over the floor and spread using a squeegee.
- The epoxy is then back rolled out.
- We then upon request spread decorative chips by hand over the garage floor to meet aesthetic requirements for the job.
- Upon request we put a Polyamide Epoxy Clear Sealer finish over the epoxy for maxium protection.
